Quality Manager / Operations Manager

 

Overview:

This position provides management oversight for activities of a global distribution center including inventory and bulk shipping both domestically and internationally.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Participates in development of Distribution strategy and mission and its implementation und the guidance of the Director of Distribution.
  • Ensures the selection, orientation, development, and retention of a sufficient number of qualified staff to carry out the responsibilities of the distribution center. 
  • Develops and manages metrics.
  • Manages the receipt, storage, and distribution of multiple division products.
  • Supports Regional Sterilization by moving released finished goods.
  • Addresses questions from auditors such as ISO, FDA, Division, and Corporate.
  • Ensures optimization of operations through focused, continuous improvement.
  • Analyzes root cause of any internal or external customer complaint; ensures corrective process taken
  • Ships customer orders consistently within acceptable time frames (same day for STS shipments and 24-48 hour turn-around on all other orders).
  • Maintains high level of accuracy of inventory.
  • Ensures shipping compliance with carrier and transportation regulations, working with third party logistics vendor
  • Provides oversight and manages GDC safety program and GMP/QSR compliance.
  • Develops subordinates in the areas of GMP/QSR, SOP, World Class Principles, Safety, Housekeeping and Ergonomics.
  • Manages the planning and execution of physical inventories for area of responsibility.
  • Ensures all SOP’s and Policies are functionally accurate and all associates are thoroughly trained and 100% compliant.
  • Participates on project teams.

  • Manages Facilities and Security of the GDC

 

Basic Qualifications:

VERBAL AND WRITTEN
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports and business correspondence
Expresses information clearly, information is organized in a logical manner; speaks using proper grammar, tone and pace. Practices meaningful two-way communication.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Performs basic math computations accurately; uses appropriate mathematical formulas and techniques.
PROBLEM-SOLVING AND DECISION-MAKING
Possesses sufficient inductive and deductive reasoning ability to successfully perform job; critically reviews, analyzes, synthesizes, compares and interprets information and applies this when solving problems. Identifies connections between issues and changes direction when working on multiple projects or issues.
BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS
Understands and efficiently uses basis computer hardware and software to convey and retrieve information.

Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge:

Knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by air, rail, sea or road.

Operational experience in FDA, OSHA, GMP/QSR compliance, CPIM, Logistics or Distribution, Process Excellence, Lean and ISO.

Knowledge of JD Edwards, Highjump, MFG/Pro, PC literate, able to work with basic computer software programs (Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel).

 

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

Minimum 5- 7 years supervisory experience in a fast-paced environment
