Quality Engineer

 

Requirements:
We are a leading manufacturer of orthopedic devices, is seeking a Quality Engineer. This position is primarily responsible for the transfer activities of products being transferred to or from our facilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Additional duties may be assigned.

  • Participates in the decision making process with regards to what products are appropriate for transfer among facilities. Ensures that product design issues are not compromised as a result of transferring products with a particular focus on risks to the patient.
  • Ensures that the receiving facility has a clear understanding of proper dimensioning and tolerancing for manufacturability and inspection.
  • Develop and implement inspection plans, methods and training programs for receiving site.
  • Ensures quality standardization exists between this location and the receiving facility to maintain consistency. Coordinate the identification, supply and calibration of gauging for transferred products.
  • Collaborates with manufacturing, quality, and planning team members to ensure that all aspects of the products being transferred have been adequately addressed.
  • Create and/or provide input into the development of transfer plans. Identify, conduct or coordinate training for receiving site personnel on inspection methods, equipment and product conformance.
  • Travels to receiving facilities to facilitate successful transfers.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience.

Additional Requirements:
NOTE: This position requires at least 15% -40% international travel.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
